It all began in 1960, when Francesca and her daughter Marialina decided to open a hotel in the residential district then taking shape near Porta Pia, after running a small hotel for almost twenty years on Via Principe Amedeo, behind Termini Station. They bought a 1938 building and turned it into a modern, elegant hotel, overlooking the tree-lined avenue, surrounded by embassies and diplomatic offices, just minutes from the historic centre. Since then the Fenix has remained in the hands of the Vaccari family and, as house tradition dictates, in the hands of the women of the family, who have given the hotel the eclectic touch and welcoming atmosphere that set it apart. Over sixty years of history: of guests who keep coming back, of well-kept rooms, of delicious breakfasts, and of service that looks after its guests with genuine care.
